Dear Hiring Team,

I am writing to apply for the Technical Writer . I bring 12+ years of technical writing experience with a consistent focus on developer-facing documentation, and I am now deliberately specialising in Python-based developer documentation for blockchain and Web3 platforms — work I am actively building toward rather than approaching cold.

The core of what this kind of role needs, I have already done repeatedly. At Five9, I designed and implemented a centralised documentation framework for product APIs that reduced developer onboarding time and improved consistency across teams, and published developer and end-user documentation that contributed to a 15% reduction in customer support tickets. At HCL Technologies, I wrote API documentation for a Connected Buildings application built on the Brick Schema — a structured ontology for building-metadata systems — which is direct, hands-on experience documenting schema-driven, developer-facing APIs rather than general product content.

That schema-based API work is what makes the move into smart contract and SDK documentation a natural extension rather than a leap. Documenting a contract’s functions, parameters, return values, emitted events, and failure modes is the same discipline I have applied to structured APIs for years: read the interface accurately, understand what the developer is actually trying to accomplish, and write something they can implement against without guessing. I work in Git-based, docs-as-code workflows (Git, Bitbucket, Postman, DITA, Markdown), which is how most blockchain documentation is maintained.

I am also transparent about where I am still building. I am working through a structured, self-directed curriculum in Python (core language, OOP, pytest), blockchain fundamentals (consensus, wallets, smart contracts, token standards), and docs-as-code tooling (MkDocs, OpenAPI/Swagger, GitHub Actions CI), with a public developer-documentation portfolio in progress. I would rather show measurable progress and a clear trajectory than overstate depth I have not yet earned.

Alongside this, I have built practical experience with AI-assisted documentation workflows — including an AI agent that guides users through installation in real time, and a structured content model designed specifically to support AI-driven documentation. As documentation tooling shifts, I think that combination of structured authoring discipline and AI fluency is where the work is going.

I would welcome the chance to discuss how my API documentation background and developer-audience focus could contribute to your company’s documentation. My resume and portfolio link are attached. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Syed Haseeb Ahmed
